CCPSA District Council 007
Englewood
Bio pending.
"Before running for office, I spent 3 years as a program manager for the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence, followed by 5 years addressing gun violence as a public health issue with Strengthening Chicago’s Youth at Lurie Children's Hospital. A close friend, recognizing my passion for public safety and police accountability, encouraged me to run for District Council. My priorities have been to ensure that the police department serves all Chicagoans equally and fairly, particularly Black and Brown communities, and to be a transparent, accessible leader who encourages civic engagement and champions the people’s interests."
"Joseph Williams is a lifelong Chicagoan, and resides in Englewood with his wife and six children (four girls and two boys). He created the Mr. Dad’s Father’s Club in 2017 to help fathers become active in their children lives through mentoring and literacy. Mr. Williams has been dubbed as "the Black Mr. Rogers". Williams also formally served as Chairman of Beasley Academic Center Local School Council and Parent Advisory Council. Williams is also a newly elected District Councilman for the 7th District Chicago Police Department."
